Let's Get Curious!
Welcome to The Curious Professor
Welcome to my Substack for all things teaching. I started my teaching career over 40 years ago when I gave unsolicited advice to my kindergarten teacher about classroom management and, even though I got in trouble for my outburst, I didn’t stop there.
Throughout my formative years, I watched, listened to, critiqued, and applauded my teachers. I fulfilled peer teaching and tutoring roles as early as third grade (Someone had to teach my friend Jennifer fractions, and apparently it was I who was chosen to do it). One can say I have always had an insatiable curiosity about the teaching and learning processes—what makes a good learning environment and what sabotages even the most well-meaning educator.
Thus, I decided to launch The Curious Professor's Substack as well as the Instagram account @thecuriousprofessor to offer confessions, ideas, reflections, failures, and successes. I hope you will join me on this journey of curiosity and self-discovery to be a better educator and learner.
